American Fuchsia Society www.americanfuchsiasociety.org The purpose of the American Fuchsia Society is to acquaint flower enthusiasts with the beauty of fuchsias and the techniques to grow healthy blooming plants. The mission of the society is furthered by local branches or clubs and the publication of a bi-monthly Bulletin with varied and interesting articles. There are eleven branches or clubs that hold monthly meeting, always with speakers on various aspects of growing fuchsias. Visitors are always encouraged to come and learn more about growing fuchsias in a very social atmosphere. AFS was founded in 1929 and is the international registrar for fuchsia hybrids.		B.C. Australian Fuchsia Society (Under construction) The Australian Fuchsia Society, based in Adelaide, South Australia, has provided this basic site to serve the needs of fuchsia loving folk, not only in our great country, but worldwide. Despite the difficult growing conditions (high temperatures and at times drought) and the vast distances, the AFS has provided a service to its members and staged annual shows for over 34 years.		British Fuchsia Society www.thebfs.org.uk The Idea of the Society was born by Queen Mary, wife of George V. She could not found the society, so, in 1937 she persuaded Lady Clara Boothby to do so. After meeting with several other fuchsia enthusiasts, Lady Boothby became the Founding President. Her opening President's Address to the society was published in the first Annual in 1938 - the official publication of The Fuchsia Society.
The Canberra Geranium and Fuchsia Society **from AUSTRALIA'S CAPITAL TERRITORY** http://www.freewebs.com/fuchsias/index.htm The society was formed in February 1968 with the first monthly meeting being held on the 17th of that month. During the following years the society members have strived to promote the growing of these beautiful flowers, geraniums and fuchsias. Monthly meetings and "get togethers", plant workshops, open garden visits, flower shows, road trips have all been part of our yearly calendar. Many wonderful friendships have been created during our societies operation. The final meeting for the year includes our annual Christmas party.
