The club participates in various community events and

Fuchsia and Begonia Society
The B.C. Fuchsia and Begonia
Society was established on September 23rd, 1961.Our mission is to foster and encourage the growing and showing of fuchsias
and begonias, and other shade loving plants.
The Australian Fuchsia Society, based in Adelaide, South
Australia, has provided this basic site to serve the needs of fuchsia loving
folk, not only in our great country, but worldwide. Despite the difficult
growing conditions (high temperatures and at times drought) and the vast
distances, the AFS has provided a service to its members and staged annual
shows for over 34 years.
Fuchsias in the City
The Urban Fuchsia at Hortulus
Welcome to Hortulus Fuchsiarum, the
little urban fuchsia garden at Fuchsias in the City. This city
refuge is cloistered within the high-rises of Manhattan, NY, and
inhabited by fuchsias, hostas, ferns, astilbes and way too many
other shade-loving plants. But, hey, it's the City, OK? We're used
to being crowded. Curious about the fast-paced life of these
Fuchsias in the City?
The society was formed in February 1968
with the first monthly meeting being held on the 17th of that month. During the following years the society members have strived to promote the growing of these beautiful flowers, geraniums and fuchsias. Monthly meetings and "get togethers", plant workshops, open garden visits, flower shows, road trips have all been part of our yearly calendar. Many wonderful friendships have been created during our societies operation. The final meeting for the year includes our annual Christmas party.
Annual of the Society was published in 1938- the official publication
of The Fuchsia Society.
However, it was during 1937 that the idea of a fuchsia society was born
when Lady Clara Boothby met several other fuchsia enthusiasts Her opening President's Address to the
society was published in the first
